MOT Testing

How long does the MOT Test take?
A standard MOT test takes approximately 45 minutes. If the vehicle is older this can extend to an hour. You should probably set aside an hour so we can explain any advisories or recommendations with you after the MOT is completed.
When is my MOT due?
Once your vehicle is over 3 years old, it must be checked annually. If you are not sure when your current MOT expires, please check here:
My car failed its MOT, what do I do?
Should the vehicle fail, you will be issued with a VT3O Certificate telling you issues that caused the failure of the MOT test. Make sure that you are clear as to what rectification is required for a pass to be issued. In certain cases expert or special services may be required regarding emissions or welding. You will have 10 working days in which to remedy the issues if you would like a retest. After the 10 working days, a full MOT test will have to be undertaken.
Can I leave my car with you in the morning and collect it after work?
Yes, this is absolutely fine and many of our customers do so. We can call you to let you know the outcome of your MOT test too, so you don't sit worrying throughout the day.
My MOT is due at the end of the month, can I bring it to you early as I am on holiday?
This is fine but be aware that your MOT certificate is valid from the test date for 12 months.
